The death has occurred of Jim O’ Higgins, a pupil at Crescent College from 1952 to 1960.
He was one of six brothers who attended the school.
For most of his career he headed up his own solicitor’s practice in Dublin. He was the first chair of the state’s Family Mediation Service. He was also founding chair of the Peter McVerry Trust. At age 23 he contested the May 1968 Limerick East by-election on behalf of Fine Gael.
