Crescent in Print
For generations, Crescent has fostered curiosity, scholarship and creativity. Beyond classrooms and playing fields, many past pupils and teachers have gone on to shape public thought, academic research, literature and civic life through their writing.
From theology and social reform to art history, language, local government and memoir, Crescent authors have published across a remarkable range of disciplines. Their work reflects not only personal achievement, but also the intellectual spirit that has long defined the school community.
In recognition of these contributions, the Crescent Past Pupils Union established the PPU Book Collection in 2006. The aim was simple but important: to create a permanent record of the published achievements of Crescent alumni and staff. The collection is housed in the school library in Dooradoyle, where current students can see first-hand the breadth of scholarship and creativity that has emerged from Crescent.
The collection continues to grow, and we warmly invite past pupils and teachers who have published work to contact the PPU so that their contribution can be included.
