Crescent Past Pupils Union held our wine tasting event recently in CCC library. It was a night of great fun and much laughter in the company of Past Pupils from both the Sacred Heart College SJ and Crescent College Comprehensive SJ, as well as teachers, friends and visitors. Mike O’Mara from The Wine Buff led us expertly through the world of wines, from South Africa to Chile, through Europe and beyond, from aromas to colours, flavours to tannins, climates to soils, and interspersed with his truly comical anecdotes and accounts of his adventures in the wine business.
We emerged from the night rosy cheeked and read to tackle head on the previously dreaded wine list. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all.
