The Ignatian Challenge Cup, held in Limerick Golf Club, had a fantastic turnout this year of over 50 players which included several ladies. We were thrilled to see so many old and new faces at the event and many of our 17 sponsors played and we are delighted that Limerick Golf Club’s Chairperson of the Board of Management Vincent Jennings played.
The weather was glorious and the course in Limerick Golf Club was in fantastic condition, with credit given to the ground staff. The fairways rewarded accurate shooting and the greens read true to the cup. We wish to acknowledge the generosity of the officers and members of Limerick Golf Club in extending the facilities of their course and clubhouse to us for our annual competition.
For the second year running the winner of the cup was Patrick Cumiskey (42 points) who had a fantastic score with an excellent round of golf. Congratulations Patrick and we look forward to your defence of your title again at next year’s challenge. The best ladies’ score was returned by Jennifer MacNamara. Our first lady winner of the Ignatian Challenge Cup is imminent with great scoring by the ladies cohort but it wasn’t to be this year.
