Message from the CCPPU President

It is an enormous honour for me to serve as your President of our union this year.  I am excited to be able to build on what our recent presidents and committees have achieved in the past number of years and I am really looking forward to meeting as many of you as I can over the forthcoming 12 months.

We are planning a full calendar of in person events this year.  These events allows everyone to reconnect and we always look forward to your full support. Our charity table was a great success and this took place in Collins Bar in Dooradoyle on the 2nd of March.  It was great to see so many past pupils and friends attend and a fun night was had by all.  We were also delighted to support Robert Leahy and the team who represented our past pupils union in June at the Pig n Porter tag rugby event that told place in Crescent RFC. Our annual Ignation Challenge Cup Golf outing takes place in Limerick Golf Club on the 1st of September 2023 and as always we are looking forward to a big turnout.  We are busy organising our annual dinner which takes place in the Strand Hotel in Limerick on the 11th of November 2023.  This event is an ideal opportunity to meet up and socialise with old and new friends.  All are very welcome.

We will keep in touch with you about all of our events and with our news throughout the year with regular emails and notice of events. These will be posted on our website at http://crescentpast.com, also on our social media sites on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Our Union is always on hand to offer assistance and our links are strong with pupils from Sacred Heart College and Crescent College Comprehensive.  If you need any assistance please do not hesitate to contact myself or any of our committee members. We are also proud to continue to maintain our links with the other Irish Jesuit Past Pupil Unions and the Jesuit Alumnae of Ireland.

I am also delighted to welcome five new members to our committee this year.  I would urge you all to join up and participate in any way you can this year.  More members will enable us to organise a wider range of activities and to build a stronger network of support, so please do not hesitate to get in touch if that was something that would be of interest to you.

I look forward to your support over the course of the year.

Best wishes
