Diarmuid Fitzgibbon Soccer Tournament on December 28th

The Diarmuid Fitzgibbon Soccer Tournament takes place again this year, after a five-year hiatus, at the Delta Sports Dome in Ballysimon on December 28th, with registration from 10am.

The emphasis of the tournament is much more on fun than competition and participation is open to guys and girls and people of all or no footballing ability. People do not need to turn up with pre-decided teams as we pick them ourselves following registration, with the intention of having some parity between the sides and making sure everyone makes some new friends on the day. There is no admission fee but we will be accepting donations on the day for Aid to the Church in Need, a charity chosen by the Fitzgibbon family. Diarmuid was a student in Crescent College from 1997 to 2003 and is fondly remembered by many as a terrific soccer player and wonderful friend. Both his friends and those who weren’t lucky enough to know him are more than welcome to join us for what is guaranteed to be a fun day and a great way to run off the Christmas turkey!
