Dermot Whelan (Class of 1991)

Dermot Whelan is an international and national award winning broadcaster in radio and TV, his early professional career seeing him as an assistant director in TV and film. He presents the hugely popular Dermot and Dave Show on Today FM.

He successfully studied in California to become a certified masters of wisdom and meditation teacher. He has reached out to schools to help students and assist corporate clients in dealing with stress and developing their mindfulness.

He is a successful author having published two books. His book: ‘Mindful: Unwreck Your Head and Destress Your Life” was a number one national bestseller and he has also written a book for children: “Noni and the Great Chocolate Mystery”.

He is also a comedian undertaking national tours to capacity audiences. He is a master of stand-up and has appeared in international and national TV comedy shows – he tours extensively.
