Crescent Past Pupils Dinner 2019 – Photos and Report

The Annual Past Pupils Dinner was held recently in the Strand Hotel Limerick.  A great evening was enjoyed by all those attending and in particular the Class of 1969 who were there to celebrate their 50 year reunion.

Representing the Crescent school were Principal Karin Fleming, Vice Principal Diarmuid Mullins and Helen ODonnell from the Board of Management. We were also delighted to welcome Paul Donnellan, Vice President from Old Crescent RFC and a number of representatives from other Jesuit colleges including Belvedere, Clongowes and our close links with Mungret PPU were honoured with their current president Bill Nash in attendance.

As always the Strand Hotel laid on an excellent venue, meal and hospitality for the guests.

The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the Roll of Honour award to our first female recipient, Dr. Caitríona Jackman from the Crescent Class of 1999.  Her gracious acceptance of the award and her address to the assembled Crescent Past Pupils was well received.  She was so clearly full of enthusiasm for her chosen career and explained how she had progressed through her career including her studies of data from space programmes like Cassini.  She also spoke fondly of the education she received and time she spent in Crescent.  We wish her the very best in the future, we would say that the “sky is the limit” but Caitríona’s aims lie far beyond that!

We must also thank the generous sponsors of the Raffle which once again raised the excitement at evening and a few euro for the Union’s activities .. we thank everyone involved in making the 2019 Dinner a huge success and look forward to 2020.
