Thomond Park proved to be the venue once again for David Wallace though this time it was the main hall that held the attention rather than the pitch. As part of its ongoing fundraising to support the myriad of school activities, Crescent College Comprehensive S.J. held a highly entertaining evening to honour the former British and Irish Lion, Irish International and twice Heineken Cup winner.
Headmaster, Mr. Nicholas Cuddihy, welcomed guests and thanked the parent body for its support and not just on this occasion. Mr. Richard Leonard, Chairman of the Board of Management, presented David with a token of appreciation from the college. Rather than reply formally, David took the innovative measure of having a question and answer session and answered all questions with a mixture of diplomacy, wit and evasion!
The presentation was followed by a highly successful raffle and socialising began in earnest. In concluding the evening the master of ceremonies noted that Crescent was unique in being able to hold such an event and could only do so with such supportive past pupils and parents.
